At Pepperberry, we endeavour to build strong relationships with the parents and carers of all the children who attend the nursery.
We believe in an open door policy that values feedback forms from parents and carers. We recognise that as your child’s primary care and educator, you know your child best.
Parents are consulted on all issues that affect the welfare, well being, learning and development of their children. We ensure that your child’s key person shares information about their care and development on a regular basis and staff are always available to share information about your children on a daily basis either when dropping your child off or collecting them.
Throughout your child’s time at Pepperberry we will observe and monitor your child’s progress, and record this in their ‘Learning Journey’. You are welcome to view this at any time although you may prefer to attend one of our parent evenings held throughout the year.
We will also keep you updated with regular newsletters detailing events within the nursery and questionnaires enabling us to evaluate the services we provide at Pepperberry.
Pepperberry’s Paperless system – Electronic Learning Journey
Pepperberry Day Nursery is very excited to announce that we will be going paper-less in September 2015.
Eylog tablets will be in operation for all our practitioners to use to enter important observations and create an online learning journey for all the children who attend our fabulous setting.
This is brilliant news for everyone we feel, as it will significantly reduce time spent on capturing, maintaining observations and managing the learning journeys of your child and sharing observations much more quickly with you. The automated trackers will also assist us to keep a check on each individual child’s progress and we consider that this in turn will enable practitioners to focus more on providing the best early years.
EyLog enables you to understand your child’s development on a more regular and real-time basis. Pepperberry Day Nursery will be able to share a child’s learning journey with you, increasing your involvement in the activities at the nursery. You receive a unique login on the system and are notified automatically by e-mail as soon as a new observation is published to your child’s learning journey or when any reports are shared with you by the nursery.
EyLog helps move away from the restrictions of a paper based learning journey by incorporating rich media (photos, videos and audios!). It helps you as a parent to have an immersive experience of what the child is doing in the nursery and the context in which your child is engaging in various activities encouraging its overall growth and development.
EyLog makes it possible for you as parents to contribute observations from home too! Be it something your child does for the first time or during a holiday/vacation, making the learning journey even more comprehensive and enabling ‘parents as partners in learning and development’ of a child in their early years.
