Meet the Staff
As a key person I will help your child to become familiar with the nursery and to feel confident and safe. It is my responsibility as a key person to meet the needs of each individual child and respond sensitively to his/her feelings, ideas and behaviour. As your child’s key person I am also responsible for maintaining proper records of the child’s development and share these with you as a parent/guardian on a regular basis to ensure that your child is being appropriately cared for.
I’d love to hear about everything your child has been doing at home and the things they are particularly interested in. If you have any questions, concerns and ideas please let me know.

Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to welcome you to our Outstanding nursery.
I am delighted and proud to be the Director of Operations for Pepperberry Day Nursery, Auckland House Day Nursery and Auckland College. Over the years I have had the pleasure of working alongside Mr and Mrs Akaraonye the Owners and Founders of both nurseries and the Independent school Auckland College who have been my mentors from the very beginning and have helped me progress in my career development.
I have started my journey at Pepperberry Day Nursery in 2011 before the nursery opened the doors to our children and parents. In those very early days, when the nursery first opened, Pepperberry Day Nursery had opened the doors to only 5 children and three times as many staff. Building a reputation for our new nursery has not been easy, however with the support of our Nursery Owners and Directors, the great staff team and the amazing support from the parents who believed in us and have trusted us with their most precious gifts, 6 years later Pepperberry Day Nursery is a well-established nursery and now caters for almost 120 children a day. We are also very proud to have been able to prepare the base foundations that give children the advantage they need for school readiness for 117 children that have graduated for school since the nursery opened.
Our vision is that all the children in our care will Learn, Enjoy and Flourish in our caring, nurturing and stimulating environment. Having worked for over 12 years directly with children and families and I am fully committed to the highest standards of teaching and learning across all our settings.
I have a 5 year old son (my pride and joy) who has experienced 5 wonderful years at Pepperberry Day Nursery, starting his journey at 11 weeks old and attending full time, graduating in August 2017 just weeks before his 5th Birthday. My son has flourished at Pepperberry Day Nursery due to the love and care the nursery practitioners have provided him, alongside some amazing and fun learning experiences that as a single working parent I would not have had the time to provide for my son. The staff team at Pepperberry Day Nursery have guided and helped my son every single day building his foundation of his knowledge in those early years and for that I am grateful and proud to work alongside such an amazing team to provide a service for all our children and parents that is of high standards and quality.
As a parent, I understand that finding the right childcare setting is one of the hardest jobs we must do (this does not get any easier when it comes to choosing a school, as I have recently experienced), therefore I work closely with the Nursery Owners and Directors to continually develop the nursery, from investing in the nursery resources, the learning experiences that we provide and of course the staff team, to ways in which we can get our parents involved in the life of the nursery, share information regarding children’s well-being and development and constantly seeking feedback from our parents and staff and looking at ways to improve the service. I also work closely with the Management and the Staff team to ensure that we provide the best early years care and education for all the children in our care.
Pepperberry Day Nursery is committed to working respectfully with children and families in ways that value the diversity of the community we serve and provide a continually improving environment which enables children to develop their full potential. At Pepperberry we pride ourselves in being at the heart of our community and establish close partnership working with all our parents and carers. As a parent, as well as an childcare professional, I firmly believe that children are never too young to learn the value and joy of helping others, and believe that children learn this by watching their immediate carers like their parents, teachers and friends, therefore over the years I have worked with the Pepperberry Team to support different charities and raise awareness of these amongst our children and parents. I believe that when we take the time to demonstrate we care, we demonstrate the fact there are still plenty of good people left in this world and I am committed to sharing these core values with the children and pupils in our care through the experiences and learning opportunities we offer in both our nurseries and our school.
Thank you for choosing Pepperberry Day Nursery as a next step in your child’s education and I look forward to meeting you and your little ones and offering you the support, guidance and reassurance required to embark onto your journey at our setting.
